‘Why Not?’ – Aleksandr Golovin Delivers His Verdict On Potential PSG Russian Targets

Speaking to Russian outlet Sport-Express, the AS Monaco playmaker offered a measured take on his compatriots potentially signing for the capital club. Aleksandr Golovin stopped short of claiming they would immediately become automatic starters under Luis Enrique, pointing to the ruthless demands of elite football. Having played in Ligue 1 since 2018, the midfielder knows that breaking into such a star-studded squad takes time.

The attacking midfielder dismissed the suggestion that both talents would fall short of the required level to stake a claim. In his view, the two prospects would not merely be making up the numbers in the squad. They would earn playing time to showcase their ability on the pitch. Aleksandr Golovin firmly believes they possess both the technical quality and the mental strength required to make that crucial step up.

The contract situations of the 2 players reflect distinct contexts on the European market. Aleksey Batrakov left Lokomotiv Moscow for Galatasaray on August 20, 2026. His contract runs until June 30, 2031. The deal is estimated at €20 million, with a €5 million bonus. Meanwhile, 20-year-old Matvey Kislyak remains under contract with CSKA Moscow until June 30, 2029. Paris Saint-Germain must therefore carefully plan any future swoop.

The interest from PSG in these profiles fits right into their scouting strategy. The sporting management targets promising talents with huge upside. This pathway mirrors the arrival of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov, signed from Krasnodar in 2024 for €20 million. Les Rouge et Bleu are preparing to host Le Mans FC at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, October 10, 2026. The club continues to track these options closely.
