The legal dispute between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappé has taken a major turn in criminal court according to Canal Supporters. This ruling puts an end to a particularly sensitive chapter for the Parisian hierarchy while shifting the balance of power in the standoff.
Harassment Investigation Over Bomb Squad Episode Ends In Case Dismissal
The judicial inquiry opened on June 24, 2025 concluded with a formal dismissal in May 2026. The two Paris investigating judges dropped all potential charges against Paris Saint-Germain. The magistrates highlighted the withdrawal of Kylian Mbappé, which had been announced in the press. That decision prevented any meaningful witness hearings from moving forward.
This criminal case originally started with a complaint against persons unknown filed on May 16, 2025 for moral harassment and attempted extortion of a signature. The current Real Madrid forward was contesting his banishment to the isolated training squad during the summer of 2023. The scorer of 256 goals in the capital had refused to extend his contract at the time. Contacted regarding the dismissal order, Pierre-Olivier Sur, legal counsel for Kylian Mbappé, declined to comment.
A Criminal Victory That Rebalances Multiple Legal Disputes Between The Club And Its Former Player
This favourable criminal outcome adds to another legal victory for the capital club. The Paris Court of Appeal ruled in September 2026. The court deemed wrongful the €55 million precautionary asset freeze sought by Kylian Mbappé against PSG‘s bank accounts. The judges also ordered the forward to pay €60,000 to the Parisian side in damages for the unfounded action.
These rulings allow the French champions to rebalance a legal standoff previously shaped by employment tribunal proceedings. On December 16, 2025, the Paris employment tribunal ordered Paris Saint-Germain to pay €60.9 million to Kylian Mbappé. That amount covered unpaid wages, bonuses, and paid leave according to the PSG official website. The tribunal judges nevertheless rejected the reclassification of his fixed-term contracts into permanent ones. They also dismissed claims of concealed employment and moral harassment. The club focuses on hosting Le Mans on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Parc des Princes. The decision permanently clears any criminal threat.
